About the Journal

(Bali Med. J.) is published by Sanglah General Hospital in collaboration with Indonesian Physician Forum and Indonesia College of Surgeons, Bali-Indonesia. Bali Med. J. is an open access; peer-reviewed journal aiming to communicate high-quality research articles, reviews and general articles in the field of and Bali Med. J. publishers articles which encompass all aspects of basic research/clinical studies related to the field of medical sciences. The Journal aims to bridge and integrate the intellectual, methodological, and substantive diversity of medical scholarship, and to encourage a vigorous dialogue between medical scholars and practitioners. The Journal welcomes contributions which promote the exchange of ideas and rational discourse between practising educators and medical researchers all over the world.


About Sanglah General Hospital

Sanglah General Hospital was built in 1956 and inaugurated on December 30, 1959, with a capacity of 150 beds. In 1962 in collaboration with the Faculty of Udayana University as a teaching hospital. In 1978 became a teaching hospital as type B and Referral Hospital for Bali, NTB, NTT, East Timor. As with other organizations, Sanglah Hospital also has a vision as to the intended direction, become eminent in the field of Hospital Care, Education, and Research of the National and International level. In realizing this vision in providing services Sanglah always strive with every effort to maintain excellence to satisfy the people who need the service. Moreover, Sanglah Hospital is a major referral hospital for the region of Bali, NTB and NTT. Besides Sanglah also always emphasizes the empowerment of its resources to be able to produce a superior education and research in the fields of health and nursing.


History of Old Udayana OJS and DiscoverSys Inc as the new domain and e-journals hosting provider.

Bali Med J. was first online in Udayana OJS server: 
https://ojs.unud.ac.id/index.php/bmj and is still running until today.
But because the unstable server with a history of more than five times crashes in a year (2017). Either by unprofessional management, or virus/ ransomware attack. We decided to move our server oversea using DiscoverSys services.

DiscoverSys is a Canadian based Pharmaceutical and Research Consulting Company having its corporate office in Edmonton. eJournals, a not-for-profit venture and the scholarly publishing services of DiscoverSys, uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) and creates a platform for researchers and associations to publish their quality research with an international reach. eJournals is a brainchild of dedicated professionals who have years of experience in research and publishing with an objective of helping the academic community to utilize the OJS platform effectively. Needless to say, we love open source, and we are dedicated to Open Journal Systems (OJS) and Ambra (by PLOS). Language Translation Services:

With an intention to help Indonesian scientist & healthcare provider, BMJ has introduced language translation services. This service enables Indonesian author to reach the global audience in the world, by providing translation to the English Language. This service grants a global presence to the author and his/her scholarship and gives a good reading experience for our subscribers/readers.

As BMJ is an open access publisher, we do not seek or get financial assistance from subscribers/readers. Authors who wish to avail our translation services and who are interested in publishing their paper in English are requested to pay the following additional charges.
